Language training

Asian languages, taught for the way they are actually used at work.

Alaya runs its own language school. We train our multilingual agents with it, and we open the same courses to companies and individual learners across the Philippines - online, onsite, or a mix of both.

Japanese Korean Mandarin Vietnamese Thai Bahasa Business English Filipino for expats
FOR COMPANIES

Corporate & workforce training

Build language capability inside your own team instead of hiring for it at a premium. We design the curriculum around your industry vocabulary, run classes around your shift pattern, and report attendance and progress to the sponsor each month.

  • Onsite at your office, live online, or blended
  • Small groups (we cap class size to keep speaking time high) or 1:1
  • Industry-specific modules: support, sales, logistics, hospitality, IT
  • Placement testing, progress reports and end-of-level assessment
  • Invoiced to the company, with attendance tracking for training budgets
FOR INDIVIDUALS

Open enrolment courses

For Filipino professionals who want a language that changes what they can be hired for. Japanese, Korean and Mandarin speakers are in persistent demand across the local BPO, manufacturing and shared-services sectors — and the pay reflects it.

  • Evening and weekend schedules built for people who already work
  • Beginner levels with no prior knowledge assumed
  • Exam preparation tracks: JLPT, TOPIK and HSK
  • Conversation clinics and practice sessions between levels
  • Certificate of completion for every level finished

Languages & levels

What we teach, and where each level takes you.

Levels follow the recognised framework for each language. A level is typically 40–60 contact hours depending on language and intensity; your placement test decides where you start.

How we teach

Speaking from week one.

Grammar explanations are the cheapest part of a language course and the least useful on their own. Our classes are built around production — speaking, writing, responding under mild pressure — because that is the skill being bought.

Communicative method

Target language is used in class from the first session, scaffolded so beginners can follow. Explanation happens in English only when it saves time.

Role play from real transcripts

Scenarios come from actual support situations — an apology, a refusal, a delay, an escalation — not from textbook dialogues about train stations.

Writing that gets corrected

Emails, chat replies and short reports, marked with specific feedback. Written register is where non-native speakers are judged most harshly.

Cultural register, not trivia

Honorifics, levels of politeness, how to say no, how complaints are expressed in each market. The part that makes a reply land correctly.

Assessment at every level

Placement test at entry, progress checks during the level, and an end-of-level assessment covering listening, reading, speaking and writing.

Instructors who are trained to teach

Native and near-native speakers with teaching experience and a structured curriculum — not a fluent volunteer with a textbook.

Formats & schedules

Built around shift work.

Most of our learners work in operations. Classes are scheduled so that a rotating roster does not end a course.

01

Live online

Scheduled video classes with a live instructor. Sessions are recorded for learners who miss one because of a shift change.

02

Onsite

We bring the instructor to your office for corporate cohorts, during or adjacent to working hours.

03

Blended

Self-paced material and drills between live sessions, so contact hours are spent speaking rather than lecturing.

04

One-to-one

Private tuition for executives, relocating staff, or anyone who needs a specific outcome by a specific date.

Enrolment

How to join a class

  1. Tell us your goal

Language, target level, deadline if you have one, and whether this is for you or for a team. Use the enquiry form and choose “Language training”.

  2. Free placement assessment

Complete beginners skip this. Everyone else takes a short written and spoken assessment so we place you at the right level rather than the flattering one.

  3. Schedule & quotation

We send the available intakes, the schedule, the fee and the payment terms in writing. Corporate programmes receive a proposal with a curriculum outline.

  4. Confirm your seat

Seats are confirmed on payment or on a signed corporate purchase order. You receive the class schedule, materials list and joining instructions.

  5. Learn, assess, continue

Finish the level, take the assessment, receive your certificate, and enrol in the next level if you are continuing.

Fees. Course fees depend on language, level, format and class size, and corporate programmes are quoted per cohort. We publish the full fee and the refund terms in writing before you pay — see the training terms for cancellation, rescheduling and refund rules.
