Who we are
Two halves of the same idea.
The Philippines has spent thirty years becoming the world's customer service desk. That industry created careers, and it also created a habit of treating people as interchangeable seats.
Alaya was set up to work the other way round. We run outsourced customer support and back-office teams for companies abroad — and we run a language school that gives Filipino professionals a skill nobody can take back from them. The outsourcing business funds and feeds the school; the school supplies the outsourcing business with people who can serve markets most Philippine providers cannot reach.
We are deliberately not the largest provider in the market. We would rather hold a smaller number of client relationships and keep the same people on them.
Registered and accountable
Business name registered with the Department of Trade and Industry with national scope, operating under Philippine law with local business permits, BIR registration and mandatory employee contributions.
Where we are
Our office is in Taguig City, Metro Manila, Philippines, and our teams work a mix of onsite and secure work-from-home depending on the programme's security requirements.
What we believe
Five things we will not trade away.
Tell the client the truth
Including when the number is bad, when the ramp will slip, or when what you are asking for will not work. A partner who only brings good news is not a partner.
Hire for the long version
We recruit for people who could still be here in three years, pay properly, and promote from inside before we advertise outside.
Language is a craft
Fluency is not a checkbox on a CV. We assess it carefully, we teach it properly, and we keep teaching it after someone is hired.
Protect what we are trusted with
Customer data belongs to the customer. We handle it under the Data Privacy Act and under whatever stricter standard a client's own regulators require.
Small enough to care, structured enough to scale
Named account owners, documented processes, and a governance rhythm that does not depend on one heroic individual remembering everything.
"Alaya" is a Filipino and Sanskrit-rooted word for a dwelling or abode — a place something rests. On the name
Leadership
The people accountable for your account.
Not a ticket queue
Every client gets a named operations lead and a named escalation contact, and you meet both before you sign anything. You will always know who is responsible for your programme and how to reach them — no shared inbox, no anonymous account manager who changes every quarter.
Responsibility
What we owe the people who work here.
- Lawful employment. Written contracts, legally mandated benefits, correct night-shift differential, holiday pay and 13th month pay.
- Health and safety. Ergonomic workstations, rest periods, and support for the real health cost of night-shift work.
- Mental health. Front-line service work is emotionally demanding. Team leads are trained to notice, and support is available without stigma.
- Development. Free or subsidised language courses for staff, and a path from agent to specialist, trainer or team lead.
- Equal opportunity. Hiring on capability. No discrimination on sex, gender identity, age, religion, disability, civil status or health status.
